From Elder S. Goff - "week of upsets, well somewhat"

Last district meeting with Elder Rindlishbacher

  Hello world
Well this past weeks was full of great stories. Last Monday as we were leaving the internet I got a phone call from one of our district leaders telling me that pres had just called him and that he would be having changes. It was my buddy elder rindlishbacher. I was kind of sad but he told me that he was going to be lone leader so I was stocked for that. I know he would be made zone leader soon but I didn’t think it would happen during the change. It happened because another zone leader here in the mish got a skin infection and cant be out in the sun so he got moving to work in the offices and my buddy bacher got moved in his place. He left Tuesday morning and his comp elder Mejia came with me and my comp during the day to wait for his new comp to get here. we went to our house to study after his comp left and well I made me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and I thought I would be nice and make my buddy Mejia one as well. I asked him if he would be ok eating it because he is allergic to a lot of things and he told me that there wasn’t a problem so I was like ok great so he ate it but after about an hour he was freaking out. hives started to come out and he was itching all over the place so we took off once again to the hospital like we did the last time it happened and well they said it wasn’t as bad as the last time that we didn’t give it enough time to work more on him as last time so instead of giving him an IV they just gave him a couple shots in his bum one on each side haha. for the rest of the day he couldn’t sit down and he was walking funny I felt bad cause we know it was the sandwich I gave to him but he said it was ok that he could eat it.
We had a combined zone conference this week in valles and it went really well. President call mainly talked to us about planning and how important it is. I got to see a few of my comps and buddies that I will never see again but it was cool. hna Call during her talk had me and the other 2 elders that wont be here for the next conference stand up and she started to cry and talked about the example we have giving for that passed 2 years. It made me feel really good hna Call is an angel. On the way to valles and back I sat by elder vandehyden who is from no other then the famous city of Green Bay. he came in place of elder bacher and I talked to him and had a good time there weren’t enough seats in the bus so I sat with him and his comp in their sets wasn’t to comfortable but it was ok.
we had a very sad experience happen this week as well we stopped by our apartment on Saturday to get a drink some more book and go the bathroom we were maybe inside the house 30 minutes. We left our bikes outside our apartment door and when we left they were no where to be found once again. It made us both pretty mad but oh well I guess. it was our fault that we left them there but it was inside our building where we always put them but someone was waiting for us to do it again and the took off with them.
Things here are still going kind of slow I'm not to sure if it Satan trying to pull me down or if its god trying to make me stronger or a combination of the 2 but I'm giving it all I can we had some great lessons this week and put some baptism dates with people but no one ended up getting to church it made me sad but no matter what ill just keep giving it my all till I'm done. I love the mission.
Well last of all I just wanted to say congrats to tiff. Love ya sis and I'm excited that you’re going to have a baby. I know that you and Jason have got to be pretty happy for that.

Love you guys take care

From Elder S. Goff - "Contacts"

Well things are still kind of going slow here in my zone. I was pretty sad last night receiving the numbers from all the areas cause they weren’t to good at all. We have this new goal that’s for the entire mission witch is contacting 10 people in the street for every missionary everyday so 20 per companionship. I love it to tell you the truth getting out and talking with everyone we pass by. That’s the way things should be. Me and my comp were able to get 20 everyday and even with the heat that there was this week we enjoyed ourselves. every night when I talked with the district leaders I asked how they were doing with it and the rest of the elders in their districts and they always told me it was going good so I was thinking that last night for the member that all the elders would be passing in 140 for the week but it didn’t turn out that way. I was a bit disappointed but we have conference this week and I think it’ll good alright and get some people fired up for the work. I’m super excited and I love every minute that I have left but it seems like everything around me is trying to pull me down. I’m not going to stop because I know that I’m still here for a reason and I want to make it worth it.
My 1st kid elder frankling is in the offices as the secretary of pres and well he had an area change this change and he is back in the area where he was born. I was talking to him the other night and he told me that a lady and her son that me and him were teaching is now baptized and is going strong in the church along with the only baptism I had when I was there he told me things are going really well and that all the members there were asking about me. It made me feel good to know that they remember me.
I am reading the BOM one last time in the mish and I was reading about abinidi this week and I want to go out like he did. He was being burned to death and he was still testifying of things and went out fighting. I want to do the same I decided. I want to go out doing all I can to testify to everyone that I can find. That’s my plan that I have going on and I think its going good so far.
we went to go and visit a kid in our ward this week and we go there but he wasn’t home but his brother one of his friends and his sister in law were all there so we asked them if they had talking to the missionaries before they said no and asked if they wanted to and said yeah. We had a good lesson and were able to put a baptism date for all of them. The kid has been scared to invite his family to come to church or to listen to the missionaries but they liked it and want to get baptized we will see how it turns out but it seems like it’ll be good.
Well peeps I love you all and hope everything is going good. A fact I would like to share before I end this... this week it got up to 50 degrees C and well I saw on a newspaper stand today that there were 2 people who dies form the heat. I saw birds falling from the sky and dying cause of the heat but nothing happened to us :) it was a pretty crazy hot week.

From Elder S. Goff - "Hey Everyone"

"Me with Elder Swensen, his mom, and Elder Dominguez"

This week went good. The 1st week of every change the zone leaders all go to Tampico for a meeting to talk about what we have planned for the change. It always takes 2 days from working in our own area because we go down Thursday stay the night and have the meeting in Friday and get home late on Friday. We had a good meeting though I really enjoyed it. We talked a lot this time about leadership and what we have to do to direct our zones and help them out. Me and my companion really want to reach the goal that we have for baptisms as a zone and we are trying to get everyone else excited to do the same. Thursday night we stayed in the house of the office elders and it was the worst it was super hot and we didn’t even have fans to put on us to cool it down a little. I ended up staying up way to late talking to my buddy elder Newton from Centerville. We talked about all kinds of stuff and it was cool but in the morning it sucked because we were both super tired.
On Monday this passed week elder swensen came by with his mom to say hey. his mom came to pick him up from the mission cause he was done and they went around to visit people in the places that he had been and he said that he wanted me to meet his mom so they stopped by and I got to talk with them for a bit it was pretty cool. His mom told me that while back she was at a scrapbooking party thing up in Heber Utah and that she had pics from back in the MTC with me in them with her son and there was a lady there that was like hey that’s Elder Goff from Bunkerville. Swensen’s mom couldn’t remember what the ladies name was but I guess I've became pretty famous since I left cause I don’t know anyone from Heber.
this week we were talking to a lady named Perla someone that I have awhile talking to and that started listening to the missionaries over 20 years ago and well we were able to put a baptism date with her she is very excited and likes church a lot but the only thing is that we need to get here married before that date cause she lives with a dude but she isn’t married to him. We are hoping that it wont be to hard to convince him but we will see I'm really excited for her though.
Yesterday for the 1st time I had the chance to give a baby blessing. It’s the baby of a recent convert and she asked me to do it so I thought it was awesome. I was a little nervous but it went good. Things are going well over here and I love the humidity I just keep thinking that I won’t be able to be in weather like this forever so I just got to love it while I can :)
I love you guys take care and be safe.

From Elder S. Goff - "Last week of the change"

Stake baptism

This last week went really well. It started off kind of bad but it changed as the week went on. on Saturday we got the changes and ill be staying here in Mante as zone leader for my last change and ill be staying with my comp elder Dominguez as well our 3rd change together. I'm pretty excited to be ending the mission here I wasn’t at first but it’ll be good. It was the last thing that I was expecting to happen though that’s for sure. I think it will be a really good change though I’m going to work my butt off till the end. I already talked to my comp and told him that I want to end the mission the best I can and he told me and he just hopes he can keep up I think it’ll be good though.
at the first of this last week we had 12 baptisms planned for Saturday for our stake baptism night and well through out the week and in the interviews that we did a few didn’t make it till the end but we were able to pull out 7 this last week so we were happy for that. It’s crazy how hard the devil works at to try to destroy the things of god and he really does hit some people hard at times. As my buddy elder rindlisbacher was coming over to our area Friday afternoon after the food to do some interviews for our baptism his comp elder Mejia or (PERU) got really sick he had an allergic reaction to something he ate in the food and started throwing up and these bumps were breaking through his skin all over the place. we got pretty nervous but we were close to a clinic and took him in to the emergency room and there was no one there so we started to yell to get someone’s attention and a lady came around the corner and asked what we needed we told her the situation and she asked elder Mejia for a card that all Mexicans have for the hospital and when she asked everyone was like well we don’t know what that is and I told her well he is from Peru so I don’t think they do the same things and she was like oh well hang on then idk what to do. so she went back in the back and Mejia started to through up once again and she came out again and let him pass hooked him up to and IV and gave him a few shots and saved his life. she didn’t let us pass into the back with him at first so we were just outside talking and making jokes and I guess the lady could hear us cause we were saying that elder rindlisbacher would have to call his family in Peru and tell them that he died and well just messing around and the lady hear us talking and we could hear her and Mejia start to laugh in the other room and finally she let us pass to see how he was doing. we took some pictures with him checked our weight on the nice scale that they have back there and found a wheel chair that no one was using so we decided to put it to use. If you’d like to know I’m the 2 wheel champion. The lady loved that we were having a good time and was like I always see you guys in the street and just have thought that you guys are just always so serious and we were like no it’s just because its so hot outside. we got to talking and she asked what we do we explained and as we were talking elder Mejia half alive pulls a BOM out of his bag and signs it and give it to her. Haha it was the best! She wants to listen to the other elders cause she liked the way that we are that we have fun doing what we do. She is married and doesn’t live in either one of our areas so we passed the reference and I guess we will see how it turns out.
The stake baptism night went great. we had a lot more members from the stake show up then what I was thinking there going to come it was awesome though cause the converts had so much support. The stake pres was way happy too with us and said he wants to do it at the end of this next change but in the river so that we have more space to ¡so it. So I’m pretty stocked for that. He wants that every elder in the stake is in white with someone else so that’s the goal we have right now. I’m really excited and I think that it got the members more excited too. We will see if we have a change in help these coming weeks.
Things are going really well can’t believe that time is going by so fast but I know it has to come to an end someday.
I love you all take care and be safe
